Are you an F1 visa student who has applied for the OPT EAD? In this video, I will be discussing what to expect after mailing your OPT EAD application to USCIS, ad how long to get USCIS receipt notice.
F1 international students who have successfully applied for their Optional Practical Training (OPT) Employment Authorization Document (EAD) need to be aware of the next steps involved after applying for OPT. These steps include the following;
STEP #1: Tracking Your OPT EAD Application Packet with your Courier Service Provider
STEP #2: Receiving Your Form I-797C (USCIS Receipt Notice of Action)
STEP #3: Receiving an I-797 Notice of Approval and the OPT EAD Card (for successful applications) or a Request for Evidence RFE (for applications requiring more scrutiny)
STEP #4: Reporting Your EAD Card to Your Designated School Official (DSO)
Note: As an F1 student you are not allowed to start working on OPT until you have received our EAD card and the valid from date of your EAD card is current.
