Welcome Center Assistant, Waukesha County Technical College

My name is Jennifer Hen and I work at a college in Waukesha County, Wisconsin as the Welcome Center assistant. Main role would be high customer service and that comes in many different forms, from information gathering and giving to escorting dignitaries across campus to providing campus tours to potential students, as well as managing the information flow that comes in and out of the Welcome Center. Information as it relates to course information, classroom location, events on campus that are related to classes specifically or specific clubs or departments on campus, as well as outside, outside rentals in our conference center. So, guests that come in from companies that rent our spaces. So, being that first impression on campus is a, an honor to have and to make sure that we provide great customer service to our guests in whatever way that looks like. What involves my. What is involved in my day can be tracking of guest interactions, so there's a little bit of analytics to the role that I am in, as well as I'd mentioned before, the information gathering. So, reaching out to departments and determining what is happening during the day Or if there is a surprise situation, reaching out to them immediately to make sure that we can fill the stopgap between the information and the person getting to where they need to go. Some unexpected events could be changes in room location, changes in companies that are, that have switched the dates of their events, additionally there could be emergencies on campus, whether those are safety emergencies, medical emergencies or, as it relates to the student, a student immediate emergency that you need to uncover and help them work through.
