Interior Designer, Ken Michaels Furniture

My name is Penny Wickwiniker. I am an interior designer at Ken Michaels Furniture. And whenever we have customers come in, we greet them, ask them whether they're her for the first time or if they've been here before. And then kind of walk them through the whole showroom. And then, they kind of, if they want whole room done, it kind of comes in the conversation when you're talking to them. So then we go into explaining that we do offer designs services and it's free of charge as long as they buy from the store. So we'd go into their houses and measure and do all that. Well first, we would schedule a time to kind of, we had to go to person's house, and the reason we do that is so that we can tell them what kind of furniture would fit in this space because you can't really tell that just by, then you can measure, measure the furniture itself, and then they could kind of guess, or it can maybe fit in there. We use a program called AutoCAD, where we'd have our furniture in blocks, so we can insert them into their space where we draw it up. So that really helps people get something that'll actually make sense in their living room. And then we'd help pick their fabric, leather, and it's just the fun part. So it can be a fast process, like within three weeks, or it could go longer, as long as the customer is quick in the decision-making. Sometimes, they take longer. They're like, oh I don't know if I like that. They'll take it home again, and then look at the fabric in their house, and then bring it back and choose something else. So it just goes back and forth. It really depends on how quick the customer is. So I would say about three weeks would be enough usually, but it can go on for about a month or two. We do pretty much everything, except for flooring. So except for carpeting and vinyl tile or hardwood floors. We do paint, we have mattresses as well. So we have mattresses, we have bedroom sets, dining, living accessories, lighting, everything.
