I am Chris Savage. I am the founder of Brandywine Podiatry in Wilmington, Delaware. Well, it's, really any, any pathology that can go along with the foot and ankle, really lower leg, whether it be the skin, the soft tissue, the bones, the ligaments, any pathology related to those structures. Depends upon the pathology, but you do an initial assessment neurovascular, or a orthopedic examination, soft tissue examination, You assess where the pathology's coming from, where the discomfort's coming from, and then you decide on a treatment regimen and then you proceed with the treatment regimen, might be ice and anti-inflammatories, it might be an injection of a steroid and anti-inflammatory, it might be a strapping, it might be an orthotic, it might be, a brace, and it might be surgery. My roles change because I've become much more of an administrator, and I run the practice more, when I was seeing patients, and the standard for podiatry would be five to six patients a day, every 10 or 15 minutes a day, assuming that you're in the office working. Now if you go to the OR, you might be in there for an hour, up to three hours for one case. I'd say the average, the average podiatrist is probably operating one, at least one day a week, possibly two, and that would be a busy OR schedule for a podiatrist. We spend a good bit of time in the office, there's also quite a few podiatrists that also go to nursing homes, and some even to house calls, but there's a real need for podiatry in nursing homes as well, or retirement communities.
