What was your year of graduation?
2022
What was your major?
Marketing and Supply Chain Management

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories and Washington State Athletics
What do/did you like most about your first job after graduating?
What I liked most about my first job after graduating was the people. Being a BDR at Lightcast was my introduction to the working world, and I learned a ton just by being thrown into it. I got to work with some great teammates and met people who are still important in my life today, including my good friend Kirk who mentored me.
What do you wish someone would have shared with you during your time at CSU related to career readiness and the job search?
I wish someone would have shared that it’s okay to not have everything figured out right away. Career readiness is more about trying things, gaining experience, and learning what you like along the way, rather than finding the perfect first job. I also wish I had known earlier how helpful networking and talking to people about their careers can be when you’re starting the job search.
What advice would you give soon-to-be graduates?
Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to have everything figured out before you graduate. Be open to opportunities, even if they’re not exactly what you planned, because a lot of learning happens in that first role. Ask questions, talk to people about their career paths, and don’t be afraid to take chances. Everything builds on itself more than you think.
