Key Accountabilities
•Interface with engineering staff, operations & maintenance groups, and other Vistra personnel to ensure consistent, practical, and effective engineering solutions.
•EIT (Engineer in Training) Program. Incumbents will rotate through the different areas of the plant to gain a working knowledge of those areas of the plant. Areas include, but are not limited to Safety, Operations, Maintenance, Instrumentation & Control, Reliability and Chemical / Environmental
•Will be assigned various engineering projects.
•Comply with safety policy and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
•Work in an environment ranging from office to in-plant. Plant environment exposures include all weather elements as well as noise, dust, extreme heat and activities such as climbing stairs and wearing personal protective equipment.
•Possess the ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
• All other duties as assigned
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
•Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Students sponsored through Optical Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT) are NOT eligible for this internship.
•Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year institution of higher education and pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master’s Degree in one of our desired engineering disciplines.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Access desired
•Proficient in AutoCAD or similar systems
•Excellent verbal & written communication skills; presentation skills desired
