Job Title: Tax Intern
Position Summary
We seek a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Intern to join our dynamic finance team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in tax preparation, compliance, and reporting. As a Tax Intern, you will work closely with our tax professionals, supporting various tax-related tasks while gaining insight into the tax processes of a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
– Tax Preparation and Filing:
– Assist in preparing federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
– Support the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions.
– Help gather and organize documentation needed for tax filings.
Tax Compliance
– Aid in ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
– Assist in the review and reconciliation of tax-related accounts.
– Help monitor and report on tax law changes and their implications for the company.
Data Management
– Collect, organize, and analyze financial data for tax reporting purposes.
– Support the maintenance of accurate tax records and documentation.
– Assist in the preparation of tax schedules and reports.
Research and Analysis
– Conduct research on various tax issues and provide summaries of findings.
– Assist in identifying tax-saving opportunities and strategies.
– Support special tax-related projects as assigned by senior staff.
Communication and Collaboration
– Collaborate with team members and other departments to gather necessary information.
– Communicate with clients or external tax agencies under the guidance of senior tax professionals.
– Participate in meetings and training sessions to develop tax knowledge.
Qualifications
– Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
– Basic understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
– Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
– Good written and verbal communication skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Prior experience in tax or accounting (internships, coursework) is a plus.
