JOB SUMMARY
This position will work closely with the purchasing and scheduling departments. This is a collaborative company in which we all work together to achieve our goals. There will be times when you may be asked to lend a hand outside of your main responsibilities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Production & Scheduling
- Maintaining Tag inventory level spreadsheet.
- Creating and issuing future Purchase Orders.
- Updating and maintaining the open orders spreadsheet to track future live goods shipments.
- BC data integrity (item creation/pricing/supplier information/MRP configuration).
- Create production orders.
- Issue potting lists/sticking lists to production lines.
- Issue picking lists to operation for finished production.
- Maintain production reports (sticking/scrap/finishing).
- Update and maintain liner inventory.
- Create future production based on expected PO receipts and sales demand plans.
- Prepare meeting data for weekly production meetings.
- BC data integrity (item creation/production BOM’s/production routings).
- Maintain production order status.
- Follow up with operations on daily/weekly/monthly inventory counts and BC reconciliation.
- Create production schedules/orders based on customer demand and input availability while accounting for available greenhouse/production space and plant species-specific requirements.
- Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to production schedules.
- Review and distribute production lists, production pick up lists, and shipment schedules.
- Confer with department supervisors to determine the progress of work and completion dates.
- Compile reports on the progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.
Business Central (BC)
- Collaborates with the TPC team to optimize and understand BC functionality and reporting.
- Creates and maintains BC Items, production routings, and production bills of materials (BOM).
- Maintains on hand live goods inventory via BC production orders, item journals, physical inventory journals.
- Maintains future live goods schedule via planned production orders in BC.
- Review weekly consumption reports to maintain correct inventory valuation.
Inventory
- Assist with month-end/year-end inventory and report any/all discrepancies and concerns.
- Responsible for impeccable data entry for production, grading, and shipping records.
- Responsible for scrap recording, greenhouse moves and H2O product usage.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of production/greenhouse functions, inventory, and supply management systems.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Desire to work and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- A love of houseplants and/or a desire to learn more about them
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree or B.S. in Business or related field preferred
- 2+ years of relevant job experience
- Use of computer software: Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics NAV
