The Exodus Road is a global nonprofit fighting human trafficking through intervention, training, and survivor empowerment. We have supported the freedom of 5,600+ survivors and trained 9,600+ officers worldwide.
Position Overview
This educational, project-based internship is designed to give students hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, digital marketing, and audience research. Interns will work closely with experienced staff who provide mentorship, coaching, and structured learning opportunities.
This internship is unpaid and intended to support academic learning; students may receive academic credit through their institution.
What You’ll Learn & Do (Educational Focus)
- Learn how nonprofits plan and execute digital marketing campaigns
- Assist with supervised social media engagement and content exploration
- Participate in research projects involving media, influencers, or audiences
- Learn how to organize digital assets and understand brand consistency
- Practice writing blog posts, newsletters, or campaign text with staff guidance
- Observe and support basic website content updates
(All tasks are designed to build skills—not replace staff responsibilities.)
Qualifications
- Interest in marketing, communications, digital media, or storytelling
- Strong writing and research skills
- Desire to learn in a collaborative, mission-driven environment
- Familiarity with platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn
- Bonus: Canva or basic editing experience
