The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Financial Assistance has an opening for a Senior Water Resource Control Engineer (Supervisory) in the Cleanup Fund. The position is located at 801 K Street, Sacramento, CA 95814, right in the heart of downtown close to light rail stations, other public transportation, awesome restaurants, and more.
Duties: Under the direction of the Supervising Engineering Geologist and consistent with good customer service practices and the goals of the State and Regional Board’s Strategic Plan, the incumbent is expected to be courteous and provide timely responses to internal/external customers, follow through on commitments, and to solicit and consider internal/external customer input when completing work assignments. The incumbent is responsible for the supervision and direction of technical staff that perform engineering, geological, and hydrogeological reviews of data related to an existing or threatened surface or groundwater contamination regulatory cases, and implementation of the Site Cleanup Subaccount Program (SCAP) in accordance with section 25299.50.6 of the Health and Safety Code. The incumbent works within the technical sections which support Cleanup Fund programs by performing engineering, geological, and hydrogeological reviews of data related to groundwater contamination.
Specific duties include the following: Supervise, direct, and monitor technical staff work to implement SCAP. Administer grants to characterize and remediate existing or threatened surface or groundwater contamination. Provide engineering expertise, leadership, and guidance to staff. Prepare deliverables for the SCAP program and timely performance appraisals for staff. Oversee staff on technical reviews, site-specific scopes of work and cost estimates for grant development, manage the effective use of funds during the implementation of executed grants, develop strategic plans, and implement the SCAP program in accordance with Division program policies and procedures. Coordinate closely with other managers and staff in the Cleanup Fund Branch.
