RES is seeking a skilled and dedicated Greenhouse Crew Lead (Plant Health Specialist) to join our team. This position will report to our Brodhead, WI office.
The mission: you will be responsible for the healthcare and maintenance of native perennials in greenhouse and outdoor settings. This is a hands-on role that requires knowledge of horticulture, propagation, and plant care techniques. What your day-to-day might look like?
Crop and System Management
You will be overseeing irrigation and nutritional management of crops, ensuring that systems and equipment are maintained. You will be monitoring and controlling environmental conditions to optimize plant growth at all stages, while trimming plants and using equipment to manage crop maintenance. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is also a key responsibility, involving scouting for pests and diseases, monitoring plant health, and implementing control strategies.
Inventory and Quality Control
You will be managing plant relocation and inventory control, including performing inventory counts and moving plants within stock areas. You will assess stock to ensure it meets quality assurance/quality control standards, while maintaining meticulous records to track history and trends.

Qualifications

- Experience or strong knowledge of horticultural practices in greenhouse or nursery setting, farming, or gardening
- Supervisory skills or the ability to lead a team of workers
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

- Familiarity with greenhouse or nursery operations and maintenance
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Pesticide Applicator Certification or willing to attain certification
- Equipment operator experience (forklift, trimming tools, ATV’s, etc.)
