QARI (Quincy Asian Resources, Inc.) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving immigrant individuals and families by advancing access to culturally responsive programs and services. With a presence in Quincy, Boston, New York City, and Rhode Island, we focus on building integrated support systems across schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods.
Community Ambassador/Clinician at QARI provide individual, group, and family support counseling while also acting as liaisons to ensure immigrant communities are connected to mental health resources and social services. Our model values collaboration with volunteers, community partners, and across programs to deliver high-impact, community-centered care. Our core service areas include health and wellness, literacy, workforce development, and social services, all designed to meet communities where they are.
We are currently seeking bilingual candidates with a Master of Social Work (MSW), Master of Mental Health Counseling, or clinical licensure (LICSW, LMHC, Psy.D., or Ph.D) from an accredited college or university for our Community Ambassador role. This position reflects our integrated care model, blending clinical expertise with social impact. Reports To: President & CEO and Clinical Supervisor
Responsibilities:
- Clinician
- Provide 10–15 hours of direct clinical services per week, including individual, group, and/or family counseling, as part of QARI’s outpatient licensure.
- Provide evaluations for children, adolescents, adults, and families.
- Coordinate collaboration and communication with clients’ families and external stakeholders, as appropriate.
- Maintain up-to-date client records, including evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and termination summaries.
- Ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- In collaboration with the clinical supervisor, provide mentorship to interns and practicum students to support their professional growth and development
- In collaboration with the clinical supervisor, serve as a resource for interns by addressing clinical questions and offering guidance during challenging situations
- Treat all clients with dignity and respect, in alignment with QARI’s values and policies.
- Community Ambassador
- Support immigrant clients by assessing needs, identifying resources, and providing culturally and linguistically competent care across a range of mental health and social challenges.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and resource for QARI Adult Education students by supporting their engagement and identifying needs across health and wellness, literacy, workforce, and social services.
- Collaborate with school-based programs to support youth through mentoring, expressive therapy groups, and drop-in peer discussions on stress, relationships, and identity.
- Facilitate connections between clients and public benefits, including SNAP, MassHealth, housing assistance, and other social service programs, with support from trained volunteers.
- Participate in community-based health and wellness initiatives, including peer support groups and lifestyle coaching programs (i.e. Diabetes Prevention Program).
- Engage with and help mobilize a network of volunteers, student interns, and local partners to co-deliver services and expand program reach in schools, community centers, and public spaces.
- Serve as a trusted liaison and presence at community events and spaces, building relationships that reduce stigma and expand access to mental health services.
- Participate in QARI’s signature events (e.g., Lunar New Year and August Moon Festival) to promote services, build community visibility, and support outreach efforts.
- Work across QARI programs to strengthen client engagement, identify gaps, and coordinate wraparound services that improve outcomes in education, workforce readiness, and wellness.
- Attend internal case reviews, team meetings, and partner convenings to ensure integrated care and cross-program collaboration.
- Contribute to data collection and outcome tracking for service improvement, grant reporting, and program evaluation.
- Help shape and sustain QARI’s community-based care model through innovation, cultural responsiveness, and client-centered practice.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited college or university; other relevant graduate degrees in mental health or human services will be considered.
- Passion for social innovation and an interest in integrating clinical practice with community-based care models.
- Licensed or license-eligible to provide clinical services (LICSW, LMHC, Psy.D., or Ph.D.). Supervision hours can be arranged for candidates working toward licensure or post-doctoral hours.
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin, Cantonese, or Vietnamese required.
- Strong writing and communication skills, with a “can-do” attitude and commitment to problem-solving.
- Comfortable using technology, including video-based telehealth and electronic health records.
- Preferred experience working with Asian, immigrant, and underserved communities.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and occasionally working on a computer.
