Primary Duties
The Operational Excellence (OE) Intern, under general supervision, will involve:
- Learning about mining, and the limestone manufacturing process and environment.
- Assisting with the planning and implementation of plant lean events (5S audits, Kaizens, Problem Solving, etc.).
- Follow up with area department managers and planners on Newspaper item work and support plant PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, and Act) activities.
- Supporting plant-wide visual management projects.
- Assist with Standard Work document reviews across all departments and upload revisions / updates using ZenQMS, the plants quality management system.
- Help with quarter OE plant assessments and learn the reporting process.
- Interacting and helping departmental teams and areas of the business with tasks and projects, and other duties as assigned.
OE/Lean
- Understands and/or actively participates in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes, such as 5S, Kaizen, Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving.
