Are you passionate about mental health, community engagement, and digital advocacy? Join us as a Health Care Advocate Intern to gain hands-on experience in raising awareness about mental and behavioral health resources, with a special focus on supporting communities of color. As an intern, you will help bridge the gap between mental health services and underserved populations by leveraging digital platforms, social media campaigns, and community outreach efforts.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop advocacy skills, build partnerships, and promote mental wellness in a meaningful way.

Key Responsibilities:
Digital & Social Media Advocacy:
Create and manage content for social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.) to raise awareness about mental health services.
Develop culturally relevant campaigns that highlight the importance of mental wellness, especially for communities of color.
Monitor engagement metrics and adjust strategies to maximize outreach and impact.
Community Outreach & Engagement:
Collaborate with local colleges, community centers, and organizations to promote mental health events and resources.
Assist in organizing and participating in webinars, panel discussions, and support group meetings.
Develop digital flyers, newsletters, and outreach materials to engage targeted communities.
Education & Stigma Reduction:
Share mental health resources and self-care strategies through digital platforms and community events.
Facilitate conversations on social media or virtual spaces to normalize seeking care and reduce stigma, particularly among marginalized communities.
Advocacy & Support:
Identify gaps in mental health care access and recommend ways to improve outreach to communities of color.
Provide referrals to mental health providers, crisis services, and community resources through digital channels.
Documentation & Reporting:
Track and analyze the impact of outreach campaigns using data analytics tools.
Prepare reports summarizing outreach activities, community feedback, and campaign results.

Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a college or university program (Public Health, Psychology, Social Work, Communications, or related field preferred).
Passionate about mental health advocacy and digital outreach.
Strong knowledge of social media platforms and content creation (graphic design, video editing skills are a plus).
Experience or interest in working with communities of color and addressing health disparities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
