Position Overview
The Construction Project Engineer Internship introduces students to The I-KOTA Way—how our teams plan, build, and deliver exceptional projects. This 10-week summer internship provides hands-on exposure to multiple facets of construction, including field work, management operations, and preconstruction. Interns gain real-world experience supporting active projects while learning how successful construction teams coordinate design, budgets, schedules, and quality.
Successful interns may be offered a full-time Project Engineer I position upon graduation.
What You’ll Do
- Gain experience in field coordination, management operations, and preconstruction.
- Support Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project activities.
- Review and process submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings.
- Track procurement, deliveries, and field production.
- Participate in estimating, bid development, and cost tracking.
- Assist with site safety and quality control documentation.
- Attend meetings and help document progress and decisions.
- Maintain organized project files and ensure current drawings are distributed.
- Learn I-KOTA’s project management and quality control systems.
Who You Are
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Strong interest in a career in commercial or multifamily construction.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Procore or Bluebeam is a plus.
- Basic plan-reading skills and understanding of construction processes.
Internship Details
Duration: 10 weeks (Summer 2026)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday
Compensation: Paid internship
Location: Denver, CO (project site assignments vary)
