Internship Title: 10th Mountain Division Social Media Internship – Spring 2026
Internship Location: Virtual/Remote Internship
Stipend: $1,500 The stipend is not salary or compensation. The stipend is meant to support study and research during the tenure of the appointment and will be issued upon completion of the internship.
(This internship is generously sponsored by the 10th Mountain Division Foundation, who are dedicated to sharing the story of the WWII division.)
Qualified candidates may receive academic credit through their college or university. *Check with your school’s Internship Coordinator BEFORE accepting the hiring offer to determine if this position satisfies the criteria for receiving academic credit.

Desired Schedule: 8 hours/week (January – April, 2026) for a total of 96 hours.
Broad Scope of Position: History Colorado is seeking an intern to create weekly social media posts for the 10th Mountain Division Resource Center. History Colorado is partnered with the Denver Public Library to manage the 10th Mountain Division Resource Center (TMDRC), which is the official repository for the historic World War II 10th Mountain Division. The 10th Mountain Division collection includes artifacts, photographs, maps, and manuscript collections from the WWII veterans. The intern will work with History Colorado staff to:
- Create social media posts that share the history of the 10th Mountain Division.
- Research and create one social media post a week for the TMDRC Facebook page that shares historical information about the Division through photos and artifacts from the collection.
This will give a student an opportunity to explore a career opportunity in marketing for museums/public institutions. They will gain experience creating content for a public institution and experience engaging to public reactions and feedback and will develop skills in creative writing and content creation for a specific audience. They’ll also have the chance to problem solve to figure out how to increase audience reach and engagement. This is a collaborative project and the student has the opportunity to build their portfolio.
Outcomes – By the end of the internship, the intern will have created a minimum of 16 Facebook posts. The intern will gain experience creating social media content for a museum institution that utilizes the collection to engage with the public. The goal is to use research skills and creative writing to expand the TMDRC’s social media presence and digital audience.
Desired Skills & Academic Field of Study:
- Undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates with a degree focus in History, Museum Studies, Communications, or related fields are eligible to apply.
- Some knowledge of social media content creation, research skills, or creative writing experience is preferred.
- Prior knowledge of the 10th Mountain Division is not required.
