Role Overview: We are looking for an advisor on AI projects that are being developed within the Helpful community for new industry applications and social impact causes. The role entails acting as a key advisor for technical matters related to AI initiatives, LLM application and formulation, etc. and directing teams who are formulating and working on projects. There may be opportunities to engage with external entities and co-develop solutions around AI as part of this role.
This is a volunteer role with the ability to build your work portfolio in this space, and has the potential to transition to a paid role with industry co-development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Help lead and direct experimental teams around AI initiatives within the Helpful community. This could be across industry verticals.
- Engage in the latest research and advancements in AI workflows and Large Language Models.
- Collaborate with others on understanding requirements, refining models, to data handling and building robust solutions.
- Design, deploy, and manage software that integrates machine learning (LLM, computer vision, and data science models) — from conceptualization through lifecycle management.
- Regularly update project stakeholders on findings and progress.
Preferred Skills:
- 2+ years working with AI, ML, LLMs, and data applications.
- Solid programming skills, particularly in Python.
- Completed Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Sciences, or a related degree.
- Candidates coming from industry, as well as graduate level candidates considered.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to be a self starter, out of the box thinker, and drive solutions
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in team settings.
