Requirements for Candidates
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or trade school. Prefer Senior level college student.
- Must be in good academic standing, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
- Must be available to work full-time during the summer internship period, or part-time during other approved semesters.
- Must be able to commit to the schedule established by the Area Manager.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must adhere to all company policies, including those related to professional behavior, attendance, and workplace safety.
- Must demonstrate a willingness to learn, follow instructions, and actively contribute to assigned tasks and projects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office, email communication).
- Demonstrated leadership potential, problem-solving ability, and teamwork.
- Must complete all evaluations and feedback processes as outlined in the Internship Program.
- Must accept and apply feedback from managers and mentors throughout the internship.
- Must submit a Resume and copy of their college transcript for proof.
Goals of Internship for Intern
- Experience our business in the real world, beyond the classroom.
- Evaluate our culture and decide if it’s a fit for them.
- Build friendships and connections with people they could see themselves working with in the future.
- Rotate through multiple functions—Warehouse, Counter, Inside Sales, Quotations, Management, and Outside Side Sales—to understand the diversity of the business.
- Contribute to at least one meaningful project so they leave with a real accomplishment.
- Gain soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and customer service.
- Meet and interact with leaders across the company to understand career paths.
- Get a jump start on our systems to prepare them for a potential LDP opportunity.
Goals of Internship for Company and Management
- Evaluate interns work ethic, initiative, and willingness to learn.
- Observe how well they assimilate with our culture and get along with employees.
- Assess whether they might be a “fit” within our organization long term.
- Gain their fresh perspective on processes and workflow.
- Strengthen our employer brand on campuses by sending interns back as advocates.
