The Rockies and High Plains Vector-borne Diseases Center (RaHP VEC) is seeking current undergraduate and Master’s students for a summer field training internship in mosquito control and vector-borne disease prevention. Interns will be paired with local mosquito control districts or public health agencies near where they plan to live for summer 2025. Some additional accommodations may be possible through housing support in some areas.
Interns will contribute to enhancing mosquito control on projects that establish or expand surveillance operations in new or existing areas, work with local or state public health agencies to expand testing or communication, or other related projects. Internships may require outdoor field work (prior field experience is not required), and successful applicants should have in interest in conducting field work such as placing/removing mosquito traps and dipping for larvae on the edges of water bodies. Other preferred qualifications include interest in vector-borne diseases and/or public health, prior laboratory experience (including college courses), communications skills and attention to details. Please apply via the link found here: https://rahpvec.us/training/internship/ and feel free to contact us with any questions at https://rahpvec.us/contact/.
