About Us
We are a boutique, tax-focused accounting firm in Gainesville. In addition to our individual tax prep (1040s), we are dedicated to helping local small businesses thrive. Unlike large “factory” firms, we work closely with our clients to manage their entire financial ecosystem—from payroll and general ledger management to high-level tax strategy and advisory. We pride ourselves on being tech-forward and agile.
The Role
We are looking for a tech-savvy, detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team. While we are a tax-heavy firm, your primary mission will be the “engine room” of our clients’ businesses: maintaining pristine books, solving complex journal entry puzzles, and ensuring payroll is perfectly adjusted.
You won’t just be “crunching numbers”—you will be fixing financial stories and preparing businesses for growth (and tax season).
Key Responsibilities
The “Clean-Up” Specialist: Take messy small business books and transform them into organized, accurate financial statements.
General Ledger Mastery: Manage bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and complex journal entries.
Payroll & Compliance: Assist with adjusting payroll entries and ensuring quarterly filings are accurate, as well as preparing payroll tax returns.
Tech Integration: Use QuickBooks Online and other accounting software to streamline client workflows.
Communication: Act as a bridge between the data and the firm, explaining needs clearly and professionally.
What We’re Looking For
Computer Fluency: You should be the person your friends ask for tech help. You navigate software intuitively and love keyboard shortcuts.
The “Eager Learner” Mindset: You don’t need to know everything on Day 1, but you must be a “sponge.” We value curiosity and the ability to learn a new process after being shown once.
Accounting Foundation: Current student or recent graduate of the Fisher School of Accounting (or equivalent). Understanding the why behind a debit and credit is non-negotiable.
Software Exposure: Experience with any accounting software is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
Communication Skills: You can write a professional email and verbally explain an accounting situation with confidence.
