Bechtel’s internship program was created to cultivate real-life industry interest based on hands-on experience. Many new university graduate hires began their careers at Bechtel as a summer intern. Locations will vary based on project needs and may include Houston, TX, Reston, VA, or various project sites.
Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) Engineering interns work in multi-disciplinary teams to provide support to CSA aspects of our projects. This includes site preparation, foundation and structures of industrial facilities, power plants, or commercial facilities.
CSA Engineering interns may be responsible for:
- Preparing and reviewing calculations, drawings, specifications, plans and requisitions of structures, systems, and equipment.
- Reviewing design documents from equipment suppliers.
- Providing construction support as it relates to civil earthwork design activities.
- Providing critical interface with equipment suppliers and contractors.
- Working with design concepts for structures and equipment.
- Conducting Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE).
Basic Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a four-year Bachelor of Science degree program in Civil/Structural Engineering at an accredited college or university.
- Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies.
- Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
- Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Master of Science degree program in Civil/Structural Engineering at an accredited college or university.
- Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
