ASRC Federal’s Summer Technology Readiness Intern Development Experience (STRIDE) offers undergraduate college students the chance to apply their technological interests and knowledge to exciting real-world missions.
ASRC Federal is seeking a Network Security Intern who will assist our WICS team in networks, security, or systems administration work at Schriever Air Force Base near Colorado Springs, CO. This is a temporary, onsite position.
Work location: Onsite in office environment located at Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO. Local candidates preferred. Relocation assistance, housing, or stipends are not provided.
Security: Must be a US Citizen to obtain a Secret clearance and successfully complete a government issued background investigation to access to customer site (must have lived continuously in the continental United States for the past three years)
Program dates: 10-week summer internship, June 1 – August 6, 2026
Hours: 32 hours per week
Education:
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Cyber Security, Network Engineering, Information Technology or relevant field.
- Must be a current junior, senior or graduate student in college at the time of application submittal.
Summary: You will be part of our dynamic team at Schriever AFB under our WICS contract supporting DoD mission systems, networks, and cyber security systems. On the base, we are at 11 different work centers all performing something different but generally in the networking field. Our Networking team performs long haul network duties with fiber networking, satellite communications, and satellite broadcasting. Our Systems Admin team performs managing Linux and Windows global command control system. Our Cybersecurity team addresses vulnerabilities and mission impact reporting for the satellite control network.

Basic Qualifications:
- Curriculum exposure to networking technologies
- Knowledge of tracking networking vulnerabilities
- Strong understanding of Linux
- Experience with Linux or Windows global commands
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly
- Ability to work in a team environment with strong communication skills
- Ability to document technical specifications
Desired Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain a Security+ certification prior to the internship, or already possesses one IAT Level II certification
Interns will work closely with dedicated mentors and managers, fostering meaningful connections within our company while exploring a range of technology disciplines. Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to contribute to research projects developed by our tech experts. While extensive work experience is not required, a commitment to learning and a genuine passion for emerging technological advancements are essential.
