ALSAC’s Internship Program offers an immersive experience where interns dive into our culture, contribute to organizational goals through meaningful projects, and build relationships with team members and senior leadership. Over the course of 10 weeks, interns are paired with a day-to-day manager and given significant assignments, gaining a true understanding of what it means to be part of ALSAC/St. Jude. ALSAC Summer Intern Innovation Project: Throughout the internship, interns will connect with innovators across ALSAC, learning the art of Design Thinking. Working in teams, they will engage in creative sessions and prepare to present their projects to ALSAC’s CEO and Executive Leadership Team.

Requirements:
A passion for our mission!
Must be undergraduate, graduate, or graduation as of Spring 2025.
Comfortable with Zoom and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
Active participation in the Summer Intern Innovation Project through cross-functional collaboration.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Specific Internship Description and Preferred Skills:
The Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware Area Team is a strategic, collaborative, and dynamic group focused on intentionally increasing awareness and philanthropic support to benefit the critical mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This work is accomplished through various projects, programs, and experiences made possible through extraordinary leadership, innovation, hard work, laughter and the incredible partnership and joint accountability of a growing volunteer network. Programs executed from this team include individual, bequest, and corporate giving, volunteer management, marketing/public relations, market research, and awareness and fundraising events such as the St. Jude Walk, Radiothons, Dinners, Galas, Golf events, Collegiate Programs, Greek Life initiatives, High School Leadership Programs, and more! Our work is focused on elevating the engagement and awareness for the St. Jude mission within the diverse community we serve and aspire to serve.
Internships Projects include, but are not limited to, the following:
St. Jude Walk: Assist in the recruitment of Walk teams and participants. Attend and participate in committee meetings. Call past and current participants to keep them up to date on the latest incentives and event announcements and/or help manage a calling program where volunteers outreach to current, past, and prospective walk participants. Work closely with the event lead to assure that the St. Jude Walk meets or exceeds its revenue goals.
Volunteer Recruitment and Management: Assess, recruit, and manage volunteer needs. A priority for this area office is to increase its volunteer network through strong, committed, and connected volunteers that will partner with the team to implement critical programs to meet (or exceed) the revenue and engagement goals. This position will be responsible for researching, identifying, recruiting, training, and managing volunteers. The intern may also help develop customized volunteer onboarding and training experience.
Market Research: As this area expands its footprint, the intern will help us identify through research the right markets, opportunities, potential partners, programs, and volunteers that will aid the area’s growth in Central Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware and strategically expand our impact in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. This may include hosting focus groups conversations, salon events, volunteer recruitment and event ideation.
Social Media: Create and implement a strategy to expand the following on existing social media channels and potentially expand to new social media channels. Monitor social media activity and respond to posts and questions. Support, create, manage, and maintain a social media calendar. (These duties may also expand to include the development and implementation of an area communication plan which includes volunteer newsletters, awareness outreach, volunteer call nights, social media, etc.)
Administrative Tasks: Make phone calls. Assemble binders. Engage in online research. Write cards to donors. Assist with event setup and takedown if necessary. Create lists and manage calendars. Manage inventory of supplies.
Additional Responsibilities: As needed, there may be some additional tasks assigned which can include, but it not limited to, supporting the launch and development of initiatives with our emerging audiences including the St. Jude Leadership Society High School program, Collegiate programs, Women Who Lead, Advisory Council’s Rising Star/Future Leader Program, and Greek Life Partnerships.
Majors preferred: Communications, Business, Computer & Information Sciences, Health Education, Social Studies, English & Foreign Languages, Health Sciences & Technologies
Skills preferred: Social Media, Excel, Adobe, Microsoft Suite, AI-based programs such as Co-Pilot. Excellent writing and communication skills are required. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Experience in working with volunteers, leadership within student organizations and familiarity with the St. Jude Mission preferred.
