This unpaid, remote internship focuses on fundraising, donor development, grant writing, and corporate partnerships. You will help build the financial resources that keep our programs running. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, business outreach, grant writing, and corporate sponsorship strategy.
Preference will be given to candidates passionate about veteran mental health and/or strengthening morale and resilience in the military community.
Expected Responsibilities
- Research corporations, foundations, and community partners for potential sponsorships
- Develop and draft sponsorship packages and partnership proposals
- Write outreach emails and follow-up communication with companies and donors
- Grant research, writing and preparation of letters of inquiry
- Support the drafting of grant narratives, project descriptions, and simple budget notes
- Build and maintain a fundraising prospect database
- Support donor relations (thank-you messages, updates, stewardship communication)
- Prepare talking points and materials for partnership and donor meetings
- Track sponsorship deadlines, deliverables, and outreach efforts
- Collaborate with the Communications team to produce graphics and materials for campaigns
- Contribute ideas to fundraising campaigns, donor appeals, and special initiatives

- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment
- Applicants with prior grant-writing experience or current grant-writing coursework are strongly encouraged to apply.
