Financial Operations Analyst
Location: Hybrid in New Castle, Delaware
Job Type: 6+ month contract
Pay rate: $17 – $20/hour (depending on experience)
The Financial Operations Analyst is responsible for supporting the cash management function within the team. The primary objective is to facilitate various complex transaction types from start to finish, including necessary escalations. This role involves handling fraud investigations, regulatory reporting, and maintaining high productivity and accuracy levels.
Key Responsibilities of a Financial Operations Analyst:
- Liaise with other business units to detect and prevent fraud effectively.
- Monitor cases of existing accounts with fraudulent wire activity.
- Escalate suspicious cases to the investigation unit, providing all relevant information to prevent loss.
- Ensure accurate reporting of all case details.
- Review detailed fraud detection information from various sources to identify suspect or unusual activity requiring research and follow-up.
- Take prompt and appropriate action on identified suspect customers and accounts.
- Draft narratives and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) consistent with regulatory requirements.
- Manage cases, providing detailed evidence and all supporting documentation.
- Adhere to all processes, procedures, compliance rules, and regulations, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices.
- Maintain high levels of productivity and accuracy.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Qualifications of a Financial Operations Analyst:
- Four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
- 1-5 years of experience in reviewing customer transactions and information for identifying potentially suspicious activity and conducting fraud reviews/investigations.
- Experience in writing and preparing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in accordance with regulatory requirements is preferred.
- Experience working in a financial institution with specific experience in fraud monitoring is preferred.
- Excellent accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong research skills, including experience with online search tools.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
