Role Description
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Manager to champion a culture of safety excellence at Triangle Electric. In this role, you will be the driving force behind the implementation and continuous improvement of our safety processes and procedures. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that all safety, health, and environmental risks are identified, assessed, and managed across all our operations. You will be a key leader, empowering our team to perform their work in the safest manner possible and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards. This position is ideal for a self-motivated professional who can work effectively with all levels of the organization, from trade employees to senior leadership.
Region
Primarily Triangle Electric employees located in the Detroit, Michigan area. Occasionally the position will support remote sites outside of this area for vacations, set ups, additional focused support as needed.
Primary Objectives
- Perform site audits to evaluate site safety performance.
- Lead the development and implementing safety policies, procedures and documents.
- Lead injury incident response including: onsite injury support, assisting injured employee to the clinic or meet them at the clinic, incident analysis and developing/implementing corrective actions.
- Lead or Support new employee orientation.
- Complete vetting services requirements such as ISNet world, Avetta and others.
- Interface with customers on safety issues/concerns on necessary response or improvements.
- Assure all employees are properly trained. This will include delivering safety training presentations in person, developing training programs/presentations as well as assuring that employees have completed the requisite online training modules.
- Assure compliance with UEC Holdings (parent Company) safety standards and requirements.
- Lead planning and development of new initiatives to improve safety at Triangle Electric (including but not limited to safety software, training, policies, procedures, etc.).
- Lead the large scale onboarding of new employees for shutdowns or special projects.
- Assure responsible staff and sites comply with the Triangle Electric Policies, Standards and Procedures.
- Assist foreman, superintends, project managers and other site leadership in complying with safety standards and performing work in as safe a manor as possible.
- Inspect field equipment (harness, lanyards, etc.) as part of site audits.
- Observe special hazard tasks being performed in the field (i.e. Confined Space, energized work, complex LOTO work, etc.)
- Other duties as necessary to support safety within the organization.
Essential Skills/ Experience
- Have a demonstrated understanding of the areas of safety management, emergency response, program development and similar tasks.
- Minimum five years’ safety experience in the construction or electrical contracting industry.
- Excellent organizational skillswith a provenability to managemultiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to workwith all levelsof personnel fromtrade employees to senior leadership.
- A self-starter, able to identify, prioritize and commence work without directsupervision.
- Good communication andpresentation skills (verbal and written).
- Position will require local and regional travel and occasional night or weekend work.
