ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The EHS Intern is responsible for supporting the environmental, health, and safety program at our TIMET, Toronto Ohio facility under the direction of the EHS Manager. The goal of this position is to provide tactical support of program updates such as lockout/tagout, confined space, hazard assessments, and employee training.
Apply EHS principles that he or she has learned in school to hands-on situations.
Work with the hourly workforce to address day-to-day safety concerns.
Create Department Hazard Maps.
Review Environmental / Safety Policies, Procedures, and Programs.
Perform Respirator Fit Testing.
Perform Plant-wide Hearing Conservation Survey.
Gather / Research Safety Data for the Safety Department.
Conduct Confined Space Entry Evaluations.
Perform Job Safety Analyses (JSA) for various processes and task.
Work on various environmental projects.
Attend safety training sessions and other appropriate educational opportunities (e.g., Jefferson County Safety Council Luncheon, Emergency Response & Fire Brigade, etc.).
Other duties as assigned.

Perform daily safety inspections
Bring safety concerns to the Safety Department
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in environmental or safety discipline.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Knowledge of related environmental, health, and safety engineering practice and regulatory compliance (EPA, OSHA, NFPA, ANSI. Etc.). Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio
