Orien Energy Inc. is an early-stage startup transforming waste heat recovery in heavy industries. One promising market is data centers: in liquid-cooled facilities, nearly 100% of electricity is converted into low-grade waste heat within the warm coolant water. Instead of releasing this heat into the environment, Orien Energy aims to harness it for valuable industrial applications. We have already garnered strong interest from the data center sector and are seeking a proactive intern to help us explore this market further.
As the Research Intern, your job entails sourcing and reading market reports, conducting techno-economic analysis, and potentially interviewing potential customers at data center trade shows. You will be working directly with and mentored by the CEO and founder Dr. Yajing Zhao, who is an MIT course 2 alum (PHD’22). We value candidates with an engineering background and some experience in market research or techno-economic analysis, but dedication and enthusiasm matter most. If you are eager to learn and passionate about making the world more energy-efficient, please reach out!
Due to funding restrictions, candidates must be a Massachusetts resident or attending a college/university within Massachusetts.
