Nestled in historic Concord, MA, Nashawtuc Country Club is a private, member-owned club featuring an 18-hole Geoffrey Cornish design, thoughtfully redesigned by Rees Jones, Inc. in 2017–2018. Our club is known for its welcoming, family-oriented environment and full suite of year-round amenities, including tennis, pickleball, swimming, fitness, and winter recreation.
We take pride in continually improving our facilities — with exciting capital projects ahead, including a new irrigation pump system and in-house tee renovation beginning in 2026, followed by a full irrigation system upgrade in 2027. Position Overview
We’re seeking a motivated and career-driven 2nd Assistant Superintendent to join our talented Grounds Team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of golf course management and leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Participate in all aspects of golf course maintenance and daily setup
- Operate and train staff on mowing, rolling, and hand-watering practices
- Assist with granular fertilizer and spray calibration/applications
- Monitor turf health, diseases, and pests
- Troubleshoot and repair irrigation issues
- Supervise, motivate, and train seasonal staff
- Lead small projects and in-house construction initiatives
- Participate in winter operations including snow removal and plowing
Qualifications & Skills
- 2–5 years of golf course maintenance or related experience
- Strong knowledge of turf care practices and equipment operation
- Experience in spray/fertilizer applications and crew management preferred
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to learning
- Ability to work extended hours during the golf season
- MA pesticide applicator’s license (or ability to obtain within 3 months)
- Certificate, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Management or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
