We are seeking an experienced Engineer (Broadcasting) to join our California Oregon Broadcasting, Inc. (COBi) team on a full-time basis. The Engineer assists with broadcast television maintenance and repair, and installing and replacing equipment.
Job duties for this position include (but are not limited to):
- Install, remove, test, and repair equipment and software-based systems at stations and field sites
- Troubleshoot issues and failures of station and field-based equipment and systems
- Modify and repair microwave transmission equipment
- Install, maintain, and repair UHF and VHF transmitters
- Maintain site generators and charging systems
- May be required to work extended hours and weekends to repair outages. An overnight stay may be required to complete field projects
To qualify for this position, you must:
- Have a working knowledge of desktop computers, servers, IT networks, microwave transmission systems, television transmitters, test equipment, and construction tools
- Think clearly under pressure and apply creative solutions in a timely manner
- Work well in a team environment
- Be flexible to accommodate 24/7 on-call response to remedy technical issues
- Broadcast engineering experience preferred
Preferred experience:
- Broadcast engineering
- A technical school or engineering degree
