Essential Functions
- Maintains the processes and procedures for the Illinois Gaming Board’s1GB automated system for each owner licensee’s internal control system.
- Reviews and processes requests from owner licensees for proposed changes to their Internal Control System.
- Coordinates the development incorporation and maintenance of new Gaming Board programs and procedures for the Internal Control Section.
- Prepares monthly management reports and memorandums based on review of Internal Control Review fries.
- Evaluates and appraises operations for adequacy and compliancewith the Riverboat Gambling Act Adopted Rules, Minimum Internal Control Standards, and Internal Control System.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in auditing, business management, public administration, economics, computer science, accounting or other related subjects.
- Requires prior experience equivalent to three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in accounting, finance or auditing.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to pass IGB background investigation (background check).
- Requires the ability to work overtime and travel.
- Requires a valid driver’slicense.
- Must comply with the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act: NoState employee who works for the Illinois Gaming Board, or spouse or immediate family member living with such personshall, during State employment, hold an ownership interest, other than a passive interest in a publicly traded company, in any gaming license under the Illinois Gambling Act, the Video Gaming Act, the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975, or the Sports Wagering Act.
- Must comply with the Illinois Gambling Act: No person shall be employed to serve the Board who is, or whose spouse, parent or child is, an official of, or has a financial interest in orfinancial relation with, any operator engaged in gambling operations within this State,or any organization engaged in conducting horse racing within this State.
- Must comply with the Illinois Gambling Act: For the one year immediately preceding employment, an employee shall not have been employed or received compensation or fees for services from a person or entity, or its parent or affiliate, that has engaged in business with the Board, alicensee, or a licensee under the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers three (3) years’ experience workingwith gaming regulations.
- Prefers at least three (3) years’ experience developing audit guidelines and/or internal controls regulations for gaming operations.
- Prefers at least three(3) years’ experience preparing or reviewing financial statements.
- Prefers at least three (3) years’ experience using Microsoft programs including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point.
