ALSAC’s Internship Program offers an immersive experience where interns dive into our culture, contribute to organizational goals through meaningful projects, and build relationships with team members and senior leadership. Over the course of 10 weeks, interns are paired with a day-to-day manager and given significant assignments, gaining a true understanding of what it means to be part of ALSAC/St. Jude. Recognized as one of the top 100 internship programs in the U.S. in 2022 by WayUp and Yello, our program is designed to be impactful and enriching.

ALSAC Summer Intern Innovation Project: Throughout the internship, interns will connect with innovators across ALSAC, learning the art of Design Thinking. Working in teams, they will engage in creative sessions and prepare to present their projects to ALSAC’s CEO and Executive Leadership Team.

Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Pay Rate: $14/hour

Requirements
A passion for our mission!
Must be undergraduate, graduate, or graduation as of Spring 2025.
Comfortable with Zoom and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Active participation in the Summer Intern Innovation Project through cross-functional collaboration.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Specific Internship Description and Preferred Skills:
Join the Audience Planning team, part of the dynamic Strategic Marketing division, where you’ll be at the forefront of developing and planning innovative marketing and fundraising initiatives for key target audiences, including potential supporters and donor groups. As an intern, you’ll play a crucial role in crafting integrated strategies and planning across various marketing channels such as advertising, print materials, events, websites, email, and social media. Your efforts will culminate in creating comprehensive “go-to-market” plans that raise funds and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Throughout this exciting journey, you can expect to:
Coordinate Campaigns: Tailor your messaging and outreach strategies to resonate with diverse cultural groups. Collaborate with community leaders to ensure cultural sensitivity and relevance.
Update Print Materials: Work closely with graphic designers and content creators to refresh brochures, flyers, and event branding, ensuring all materials align with the latest brand guidelines.
Maintain Databases: Implement a systematic approach to organize and maintain the database, using folders and tags to categorize projects by status (completed, in-progress).
Plan Marketing Channel Activations: Utilize tools like Atlassian JIRA for task management, Microsoft PowerPoint for presentations, and Microsoft Excel for data analysis. Coordinate with the audience lead to ensure all tasks are tracked and deadlines are met.
Report and Analyze ROI: Gather data from various campaigns and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure ROI, using tools like Google Analytics and social media insights.
Develop Project Timelines: Create detailed project timelines and monitor progress using Gantt charts or project management software to visualize timelines and dependencies.
Support Team Manager: Compile updates, prepare for meetings, and create presentations, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
Specific Projects:
Get hands-on experience with exciting projects that make a real impact!
Partner Groups and Organizations:
Coordinate marketing support for partners like Kappa Alpha Psi and Sigma Gamma Rho. Plan and execute on-campus visits.
Sunday of Hope:
Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the event. Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure successful execution.
World Sickle Cell Day (June 19th):
Organize task force meetings, plan activities, and ensure all logistics are in place for the event.
Legacy of Equity (Chicago Event – June 19th):
Coordinate all aspects of the event, from venue selection to marketing and attendee management.
Black Philanthropy Month (August):
Organize task force meetings, plan activities, and develop marketing strategies to promote the event.
Additional Multicultural Audience Activations:
Compile reports for events like Dia del Nino and Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Analyze the success of these activations and identify areas for improvement.
Majors preferred: Integrated Marketing, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business, or any other related majors
Skills preferred: Strong skills in Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Working knowledge of Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence) would be a huge bonus!
