Job Title: Press Brake Operator
Location: Mt. Vernon, Missouri
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Sets up and operate press brake machines to bend, form or straighten metal and structural shapes, as specified by work order, blueprints, drawing, templates or layout
- Operates an ETS3000 Accurpress CNC controller to input information into machine
- Adjusts ram and back gauge locations per process control instructions and blueprints
- Performs programming using all features of the press brake
- Produces parts for Fit-up or assembly operations
- Meets customer specifications and delivery requirements
- Programs the CNC to produce new parts that meet specifications
- Performs inspections on all parts by checking height, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges and other precision-measuring instruments.
- Configures bend allowances for sheet metal
- Follow shop drawings to lay-out and punch or drill holes as required
- Performs cross training on other equipment such as Laser and Plasma
Job Requirements:
- Education & Training
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of work experience as a Press Brake Operator
Technical Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail
- Good mechanical aptitude and familiarity with machines of various types
- Strong math skills to include decimals and fractions, as well as a strong understating of Geometry is a must
- Have a good understanding of computer applications and file sharing
- Ability to read and understand drawings and blueprints
- Ability to measure and work with tight tolerances
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed
- Ensure machine is calibrated and cleaned
- Visualize objects in three dimensions from drawings
Physical Requirements:
Performs climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing for long periods of time, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping. Coordinates the use of eyes, hands and feet. Maintains physical strength and stamina. Exerts up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. This position requires the incumbent to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
Working Conditions:
This position is subject to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles and electrical current. This position is also subject to air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
